Softball Recap: Bath Takes a Loss

Bath dropped to 10-6 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Williamston Hornets by a score of 3-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Bees couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Williamston, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

For Williamston's part, Olivia Yadav spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. Yadav has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Williamston secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Shea O'Neil, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bath will square off against Springport at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Williamston, they will face off against Saranac at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Redskins have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
