Kenton played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Bath, falling 48-6. While losing is never fun, Kenton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Bath is ranked 139th).

Despite the loss, Kenton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Garry Phipps picked up two sacks and made 15 total tackles. Kenton also got help from Zayne Perkins, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

Even if they lost, Kenton's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Phipps was the leader with two.
