If Heath wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mt. Vernon, they should've done a better job of containing Mason Richards. The Yellowjackets took down the Bulldogs 38-22 on Friday thanks in part to Richards, who rushed for 125 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 117 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Richards is also crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season.

Mt. Vernon now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Heath, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will welcome Zanesville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The match will give the Yellowjackets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Heath, they will face off against Johnstown-Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Johnnies' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
