Basketball Recap: Covenant Christian Takes a Loss

Covenant Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 61-24 loss at the hands of the Gulf Pointe Latin Gladiators. Covenant Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-10.

Dean Fillmore was his usual excellent self, going 5 of 6 en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals for Gulf Pointe Latin. Zach Roberson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Covenant Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.

Covenant Christian will challenge Liberty County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gulf Pointe Latin, they will face off against Santa Rosa Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
