Baseball Recap: Andrew Jackson Academy Takes a Loss

Andrew Jackson Academy came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks, falling 20-10. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the War Hawks: they've now lost three in a row.

Jack Walling was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Tim Williams was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Andrew Jackson Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Andrew Jackson Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Colleton Prep Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Andrew Jackson Academy will face off against Coastal HomeSchool at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Andrew Jackson Academy has given up an average of 9.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Colleton Prep Academy, they will square off against Dorchester Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Colleton Prep Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
