Baseball Recap: Ash Grove Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Ash Grove and Stockton meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Tigers. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 9-6 win the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Kyler Reece, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ty Messley, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Ash Grove has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Stockton, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.

The future could be bright for both Ash Grove and Stockton: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently.
