Aspermont takes loss despite strong efforts from Jaxon Hodges and Seth Johnson

Recap: Aspermont Hornets vs. Knox City Greyhounds

After flying high against the Rule Bobcats last Friday, the Aspermont Hornets came back down to earth. Aspermont was the victim of a tough 62-38 defeat at the hands of Knox City on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Aspermont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1325th, while Knox City is ranked 637th).

Aspermont's loss came despite strong showings from Seth Johnson and Jaxon Hodges. Johnson scored 14 points, while Hodges scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Aspermont's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. As for Knox City, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 19-2.

Aspermont will head out on the road to take on Newcastle at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Knox City, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Paint Creek at 7:00 p.m. Paint Creek comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
