Basketball Game Preview: South Prairie/Max vs. Rugby Panthers

South Prairie/Max will challenge the Rugby Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-53, which was the final score in South Prairie/Max's tilt against Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood on Saturday. While losing is never fun, South Prairie/Max can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Mohall/Lansford/Sherwood is ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Rugby had to suffer through a 82-45 loss at the hands of Shiloh Christian. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Skyhawks: they've now lost five in a row.

This is the second loss in a row for South Prairie/Max and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Rugby, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 4-8.

Things could have been worse for South Prairie/Max, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-54 loss to Rugby in their previous matchup back in January of 2024.
