Volleyball Recap: Sotomayor Comes Up Short

If Sotomayor was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Bandera on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The WILDCATS lost 3-0 to the Harlan Hawks on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the WILDCATS in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost eight in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14, 25-12.

Adyson England paced Sotomayor's offense, picking up four kills. England got some help from Julieta Munoz and her six assists. Marina Soliz controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sotomayor's loss dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Harlan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, Sotomayor and Harlan will both be playing Brennan the next time they take the court. The WILDCATS will head out to face the Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Hawks will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
