Volleyball Recap: New Berlin West Finds Playoff Glory Versus Port Washington

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only New Berlin West walked away with it. They came out on top against the Port Washington Pirates by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

The victory didn't come easy: Port Washington scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 22-25, 25-20.

Willow Kumprey paced New Berlin West's offense, picking up 18 kills. Kumprey got some help from Mikayla Martin and her 18 assists. Jaydon Golsteyn controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

New Berlin West's record is now 20-9. As for Port Washington, they moved to 26-12 with that defeat, which also ended their five-match winning streak.

Looking ahead, New Berlin West will challenge Grafton on Thursday. Port Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
