Twin River hasn't had much luck against Wayne recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Titans will be playing at home against the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Twin River came up short against Fairbury and fell 7-4.
Brayden Santos made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Chuck Davenport was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne). Their pitcher stepped up to hand South Sioux City a 13-0 shutout on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won six in a row.
Wayne also got a great performance from Brodrick Tiedtke as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Tiedtke a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Jaxson Kneifl was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Easton Endicott, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Wayne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Twin River's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Twin River has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Wayne struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
