Preview: Sahuaro Cougars vs. Flowing Wells Caballeros
After three games on the road, Sahuaro is heading back home. They will take on the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Sahuaro is ranked 53rd, while Flowing Wells is ranked 45th).
Sahuaro can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 77-19 victory over Buena on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-14.
Sahuaro got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ny'Anza Brown out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cassandra Coolidge, who scored 20 points.
Meanwhile, Flowing Wells unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Salpointe Catholic 65-28. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Flowing Wells in their matchups with Salpointe Catholic: they've now lost nine in a row.
Sahuaro is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Flowing Wells, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7.
