Volleyball Recap: Bear River Takes a Loss

Bear River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Mountain Crest Mustangs. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 20-25, 25-12.

Jason Ashby paced Bear River's offense, picking up six kills. Ashby got some help from Tyler Christensen and his ten assists. Ashby was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Bear River's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Mountain Crest, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bear River is set to square off against their familiar foe Ridgeline at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mountain Crest will face off against rival Sky View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
