Softball Recap: Singer Comes Up Short

Singer lost against Basile back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hornets fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 7-5.

Jada Eaves put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Eaves was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.

In other batting news, Breeanna Mitchell was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. Hanna Johnson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

Singer dropped their record down to 6-14 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Basile, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-10-2.

As of now, neither Singer nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
