Softball Recap: Glencoe-Silver Lake Comes Up Short

Glencoe-Silver Lake had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-7 to make it six. They came up short against the Annandale Cardinals, falling 13-5. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cardinals since on Thursday.

As for Annandale, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-3. Considering they have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Annandale's part, Emerson Helget was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Madee Larson was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Coming up, Glencoe-Silver Lake will square off against Springfield at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Annandale, they will welcome Watertown-Mayer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
