Baseball Recap: College Park's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

College Park had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Acalanes Dons a 4-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-3 on Tuesday.

James Voorhies looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. College Park is 7-2 when Voorhies allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Connor Berkowitz was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of College Park's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 9-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Samuel Johnston, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

College Park's record is now 14-10. As for Acalanes, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-9-1.

College Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Acalanes, they will host San Ramon Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dons 2.9, the Wolves 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
