After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dyersburg, South Gibson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They walked away with a 66-55 victory over the Obion County Rebels. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Rebels two weeks ago, they had to take a 62-56 loss.

South Gibson has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points over those games. Obion County's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Gibson will take on Haywood in a tournament on Saturday. Haywood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully South Gibson likes a good challenge. As for Obion County, they will venture away from home to challenge Fayette Ware at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
