Basketball Recap: Cedar Valley Falls Despite Big Games from Ryan Haslam and James Milligan

While it was all tied up 27-27 at halftime, Cedar Valley was not quite Timpview's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Timpview Thunderbirds. The Aviators have struggled against the Thunderbirds recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the loss, Cedar Valley had strong showings from James Milligan, who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points and three steals, and Ryan Haslam, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 18 points. Milligan is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Bawden, who posted seven points and eight boards.

Cedar Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Timpview, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Cedar Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-41 loss against Wasatch on the 7th. As for Timpview, they have also already played their next game, a 55-50 defeat against Orem on the 7th.
