Baseball Recap: Commerce Takes a Loss

Commerce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-1 to the North Dallas Bulldogs.

Commerce saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mar'Kadden Mapps, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Austin Cook also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Commerce's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for North Dallas, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Commerce will challenge Edgewood at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Dallas, they will face off against Western Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western Hills has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.6 runs per game on average), something North Dallas will no doubt try to take advantage of.
