Softball Recap: Union County Comes Up Short

Union County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Henderson County Colonels, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Colonels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

Miley Mendoza was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Henderson County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Union County will head out to face off against Harrisburg at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Henderson County, they will venture away from home to challenge Graves County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
