Volleyball Recap: Ainsworth Bulldogs vs. Lawrence-Nelson Raiders
Ainsworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders.
While Ainsworth had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20.
Their offense was headlined by Gracyn Painter and Ava Graff, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Willa Flynn and her 12 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Payton Sears, racking up two apiece.
Lawrence-Nelson found their leader in sophomore Victoria Koehler, who had 11 digs.
Ainsworth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lawrence-Nelson, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Ainsworth wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Axtell on the 30th. As for Lawrence-Nelson, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Dundy County-Stratton on the 30th.
