Basketball Game Preview: Dubuque Senior Rams vs. Kennedy Cougars

Dubuque Senior is 1-9 against Kennedy since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dubuque Senior Rams will welcome the Kennedy Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Dubuque Senior will be strutting in after a win while Kennedy will be coming in after a loss.

Dubuque Senior is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Western Dubuque by a score of 56-48 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rams as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Kennedy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Xavier, falling 68-46. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Saints are ranked 31st).

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Dubuque Senior, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-7.

Dubuque Senior was taken down by Kennedy 64-28 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Dubuque Senior avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
