Preview: LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals vs. Lyle/Pacelli Athletics

LeRoy-Ostrander is on an eight-game streak of home losses, Lyle/Pacelli a 13-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The LeRoy-Ostrander Cardinals will take on the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

LeRoy-Ostrander's game on Tuesday was all tied up 26-26 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Wabasha-Kellogg by a score of 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss LeRoy-Ostrander has suffered since November 30, 2023.

LeRoy-Ostrander's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Miranda Nagel, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Benita Nolt who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Nolt hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for seven straight games. Jenna Olson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Even though they lost, LeRoy-Ostrander smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. This was only their 15th loss (out of 17 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Meanwhile, Lyle/Pacelli came up short against Spring Grove on Tuesday and fell 50-39. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lyle/Pacelli in their matchups with Spring Grove: they've now lost six in a row.

LeRoy-Ostrander's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Lyle/Pacelli, their loss dropped their record down to 1-21.

LeRoy-Ostrander strolled past Lyle/Pacelli in their previous matchup back in January by a score of 59-44. Will LeRoy-Ostrander repeat their success, or does Lyle/Pacelli have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
