Baseball Recap: Guyer Wins Going Away Against Northwest

Guyer got themselves on the board against Northwest on Friday, but Northwest never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 win over the Northwest Texans. That five run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Davin Seale tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Guyer got a massive performance out of Drew Barresi, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Barresi hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Case Sefcik, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Guyer's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Northwest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Guyer Wildcats take on Flower Mound Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northwest, they will take on Chisholm Trail in a tournament on Saturday. Northwest is facing Chisholm Trail at the right time seeing as Chisholm Trail is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
