Basketball Game Preview: Bridgeport Bulls vs. Decatur Eagles

Bridgeport is 0-10 against Decatur since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Bridgeport Bulls will be playing at home against the Decatur Eagles at 7:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Bridgeport was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 45-40 to Castleberry. The Bulls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Decatur humbled Lake Worth with an 87-54 victory. With the Eagles ahead 41-21 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Bridgeport better keep an eye on Javen Colbert. He was instrumental in Decatur's win, going 15 for 33 en route to 45 points in addition to six assists and four steals. The matchup was Colbert's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adan Gonzalez, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 16 points along with six assists and five steals.

Decatur was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Decatur is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Bridgeport, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.
