Basketball Game Preview: Kickapoo Panthers vs. Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets

Kickapoo hasn't had much luck against Wauzeka-Steuben recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Kickapoo Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Wauzeka-Steuben Hornets at 7:15 p.m. Kickapoo knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Wauzeka-Steuben likes a good challenge.

Kickapoo is headed into the game having just posted their biggest win since January 6th on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Riverdale as Kickapoo made off with a 78-53 victory.

Meanwhile, Wauzeka-Steuben came up short against North Crawford on Tuesday and fell 55-44. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while the Trojans are ranked 101st).

Kickapoo has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Wauzeka-Steuben, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Kickapoo was able to grind out a solid win over Wauzeka-Steuben in their previous meeting back in January, winning 51-39. Will Kickapoo repeat their success, or does Wauzeka-Steuben have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
