Soccer Game Preview: Bloomington Central Catholic vs. Monticello

Bloomington Central Catholic has won four straight games at home, while Monticello has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Saints will host the Sages at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bloomington Central Catholic is headed into the matchup having not lost since April 23 and will look to keep things rolling. Everything went their way against St. Thomas More on Tuesday as they made off with a 7-2 win. With Bloomington Central Catholic ahead 4-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Monticello kept a clean sheet against Urbana University on Monday. They blew past the Illineks 6-0. Given Monticello's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Urbana University are ranked 355th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bloomington Central Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those six matchups. As for Monticello, their win bumped their record up to 22-2.
