Softball Recap: Christian Picks Up 13th Straight Win at Home

Christian entered their tilt with Eastlake on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Titans by a score of 7-2. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 7-4 victory the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Ava Barrios tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Moody, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Sherburne, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Christian pushed their record up to 11-3-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Eastlake, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian will welcome Rancho Buena Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
