Softball Recap: Mason City Starts Season with Loss at Home

Mason City unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Ames Little Cyclones on Thursday, falling 17-0. The Mohawks were not able to make up for their defeat to the Little Cyclones from their previous meeting back in June of 2024.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ames beat Mason City by a score of 8-0 later that day.
