Softball Recap: Ogden Tigers vs. Corner Canyon Chargers

Ogden lost against Corner Canyon back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 3-2. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kenzie George put in work no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. George was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

George wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mia Sugimoto, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Ogden's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Corner Canyon, they moved to 3-10 with that victory, which also ended their nine-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Ogden will take on Green Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Corner Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Granger at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.38 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
