Baseball Recap: Solebury Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Solebury can now relate to. They came up short against the Cristo Rey Philadelphia Blue Pride on Monday, falling 12-1. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Pride earlier this season, when they won 11-10.

Obie Taylor made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

Solebury's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Cristo Rey Philadelphia, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Solebury wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 15-1 defeat against Pennington on the 12th. As for Cristo Rey Philadelphia, they will face off against Community Academy of Philadelphia at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Pride's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
