Football Recap: Pacifica Piles Up the Points Against Katella

Pacifica waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They breezed past the Katella Knights to the tune of 45-0. That's more bragging rights for the Mariners, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Eli Sandoval had a dynamite game, picking up 65 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 58 yards and one touchdown. Ma'Kai Brown was another key player, gaining 104 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pacifica was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. They are a perfect 5-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Pacifica's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Jordan Morales, Anthony Alba, and Caleb Kelly, who each picked up one sack apiece. Kole Chapman was another major factor on D, making 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss) and snagged an interception.

Pacifica's record is now 6-3. As for Katella, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Pacifica has already played their next contest, a 20-7 victory against Portola on the 30th. As for Katella, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 35-28 loss against University on the 31st.
