For the second year in a row, Victor (N.Y.) is the Class A state champion in New York and that performance puts the Blue Devils at the No. 1 spot in the final MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Boys Lacrosse Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Victor, the No. 1 team in national rankings for nearly the entire season, battled Darien (Conn.) for the top position in the final rankings. While Darien concluded its season with a Connecticut Class L state championship and finished undefeated with a 23-0 record, it was Victor's continued excellence that kept the Blue Devils at the No. 1 spot.

Victor has not lost a game in two years, winning a national best 44 games in a row. Fifteen of Victor's wins this year were by double digits and its closest game all year was the 7-5 win over Ward Melville in the championship game. Fourteen of Victor's wins came against teams with winning records.

Darien finishes at No. 2 after routing Simsbury, a 20-1 team entering the championship game, by a score of 18-3.
