West Yosemite recap November 13, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in West Yosemite this week, El Diamante beat Golden West 42-8. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Miners.
Hanford scaled the state rankings by moving to 343 from 391 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bullpups were able to move up by beating Lemoore 19-14.
Adam Vance threw for 284 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 16-30 with 1 interception.
Jake Young was a passing and rushing force as Hanford defeated the Tigers. He completed 18 passes for 220 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 76 yards. Young's key target this week was Dustin Vasquez, who caught 8 passes for 116 yards.
Hayden McCaw was the best running back in the league this week. In 31 carries, he ran for 161 yards as Mt. Whitney bested Mt. Whitney.
6-foot-1 quarterback Young of Josh Young's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,333. He has also thrown 15 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Arnold. The Redwood star has 47 catches for 860 yards.
So far this year, Vance has thrown for 1,916 yards with 23 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.
The Bullpups and Lemoore played the closest game in West Yosemite this week, with the Bullpups eventually emerging with a 19-14 victory. Young ran for 76 yards in the win.
