Basketball Recap: Roaring Fork Takes Down Lyons in a Playoff Battle

Roaring Fork had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 53-26 victory over the Lyons Lions. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 16 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Lyons saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gretta Wynja posted six points and eight boards.

Roaring Fork is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points over those games. Lyons moved to 16-7 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Roaring Fork and Strasburg will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. Lyons does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
