Volleyball Recap: Florence's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Florence waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Valders Vikings.

Florence had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-21, 15-10.

Miley VanDenHeuvel paced Florence's offense, picking up eight kills. VanDenHeuvel got some help from Sami Demuri and her 14 assists. VanDenHeuvel also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Naomi Millan, each putting up two.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 18-8. As for Valders, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 18-8.

Florence has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Little Chute on the 27th. As for Valders, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Denmark on the 27th.
