Volleyball Recap: Millard South Falls Despite Big Games from Bailey Wyzenski and Emeline Myers

After flying high against Burke on Thursday, Millard South came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the Papillion-LaVista South Titans by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Millard South's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emeline Myers, who had 16 digs and two assists, and Bailey Wyzenski, who had 21 assists and ten digs. Myers has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Papillion-LaVista South's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Eymann, who had 24 assists and seven digs.

Millard South's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Papillion-LaVista South, the victory (which was their 13th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Millard South wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Elkhorn South on the 29th. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Millard North on the 29th.
