Volleyball Recap: Millard South Falls Short Against Ranked Papillion-Lavista South

Millard South faced Papillion-LaVista South in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Patriots fell just short of the Titans by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Madi Jacobson paced Millard South's offense, picking up seven kills. Jacobson got some help from Bailey Wyzenski and her 21 assists. Finally, Scotlyn Erwin and Sophia Varn kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Papillion-LaVista South to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Eyemann, who had 24 assists and seven digs.

Millard South's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Papillion-LaVista South, the win (which was their 13th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Millard South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Elkhorn South on the 29th. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Millard North on the 29th.
