Burke's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Bellevue East Chieftains 2-1. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win the Chieftains walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Brayden Pickett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Burke saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Stanley, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Burke's victory bumped their record up to 8-17. As for Bellevue East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-19 record this season.
