It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Winfield ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Chapmanville Regional Tigers 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Generals have posted since April 24th.

Winfield is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Chapmanville Regional, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.

Winfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-5 victory against Hoover on the 30th. Chapmanville Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
