Softball Preview: Brennan Bears vs. Harlingen Cardinals        
        
		
            
 The Brennan Bears will be staying on the road  on Thursday to face off against the Harlingen Cardinals. Both teams come into the  match bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Brennan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup  on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Laredo LBJ  and snuck past  3-2.
 Brennan got a great performance from  Natalie Gonzales as she  struck out eight batters over  4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. Gonzales has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Dayanara Moreno, who  went 3-for-4 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run.
 Meanwhile, Harlingen earned  a  6-2 win over Edinburg North  on Friday. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Harlingen.
  Amaris Gomez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Gomez was even better at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and a  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Miranda Garza was  excellent,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
 Brennan has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 15 of their last 16 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record  this season. As for Harlingen, their victory bumped their record up to 21-11.
