Softball Game Preview: Westosha Central Falcons vs. Burlington Demons

Westosha Central and Burlington are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Falcons will challenge the Demons at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Westosha Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Burlington on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Demons by a score of 3-2. That makes it the first time this season the Falcons have let down their home crowd.

Megan Lampos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Westosha Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haley Bies, who went 2-for-3 with one run. Mykenna Sturino also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Westosha Central's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Burlington, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3.
