Softball Recap: Moriah Comes Up Short

Moriah extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They lost 22-6 to the Saranac Chiefs. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 22-3 to the Chiefs when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Saranac, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

For Saranac's part, Rowan Ryan was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Elizabeth Recore, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Moriah is set to take on their familiar foe Northern Adirondack at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Saranac will square off against rival Northeastern Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
