Montgomery County 4A - West league recap: 3/27/13
Top honors in the league this week go to
Gaithersburg, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Trojans beat
Watkins Mill 16-0, the Wolverines 16-0 and
Paint Branch 6-4.
Blair made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from 11th to sixth place in Montgomery County 4A - West thanks to a 2-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile,
Whitman fell hardest in the standings, dropping from second all the way to ninth place after going 0-1 in the past week. First-place Northwest (2-0, 1-0) went 2-0 over the past week.
Quince Orchard's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing five hits and four walks to lead the league in both categories.
Raphael Sacks drove in six runners as
Bethesda-Chevy Chase defeated
Wheaton 24-1 on Friday. He went 3-for-3 and scored three runs.
Austin Sapin had a multi-hit game on Thursday, when he went 3-for-3 in the Barons' 10-0 win against the Panthers. He rounded out his day with zero runs batted in and one run scored.
