Basketball Recap: Pe Ell's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Pe Ell lost against Ocosta back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pe Ell Trojans lost to the Ocosta Wildcats on the road by a 66-50 margin. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Pe Ell lost, don't look at Blake Nelson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Silas Edgar, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pe Ell was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Ocosta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dalton Welch, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to five boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Turner, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points.

Pe Ell's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Ocosta, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Pe Ell wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 35-31 win against Oakville on the 7th. As for Ocosta, they will face off against Naselle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ocosta has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
