The Cooter Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Holcomb Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Cooter is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since April 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 12-2 to Poplar Bluff.

Meanwhile, Holcomb didn't have quite enough to beat Senath-Hornersville on Tuesday and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Hornets in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Holcomb's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Cooter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
