Baseball Game Preview: Washington Eagles vs. Lincoln Mustangs

For the second straight game, Washington will face off against Lincoln. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Mustangs at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Washington took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln, sneaking past 11-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

The team relied heavily on Dominic Teran, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. He has become a key player for Washington: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 7-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Russo-Arana, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Washington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only posted a batting average of .241.

Washington has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
