Baseball Recap: Forbush Comes Up Short

If Forbush was feeling good fresh off their 19-0 takedown of Wilkes Central on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Churchville-Chili Saints on Friday, falling 9-3.

Forbush got a good showing from Konner Sizemore, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Sizemore has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Forbush saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan McClamrock, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Giovanni Casertano, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Forbush's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Churchville-Chili, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.

Forbush has already played their next game, an 8-2 defeat against Grassfield on the 19th. As for Churchville-Chili, they will take on Webster Thomas at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Saints 1.8, the Titans 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
