The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Oak Glen came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 69th in West Virginia, while East Liverpool are ranked 422nd in Ohio).

Oak Glen's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-2. As for East Liverpool, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5-1.

Oak Glen wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Catholic Central on the 20th. As for East Liverpool, they have also already played their next match, an 8-0 win against Edison on the 23rd.
