The Liberty Hurricanes will head out to square off against the Stroudsburg Mountaineers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Liberty had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Pocono Mountain West on Thursday. The Hurricanes put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.
Rocco Sciarra spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Dylan Metzgar was a standout: he went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Strong, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Stroudsburg hadn't beaten Emmaus on the road since April 18, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Mountaineers walked away with a 6-2 win over the Hornets.
Ryan Pacitti was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Stroudsburg is undefeated when Pacitti posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-3 otherwise. Anthony Knight was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Liberty pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Stroudsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Everything went Liberty's way against Stroudsburg in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Liberty made off with a 10-1 victory. Do the Hurricanes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mountaineers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
